Hello! Welcome to my page about foraging in Majorca!
My name is Uta Gritschke and I’m an expert for mediterranean, edible wild plants and herbs, based here on the island. My aim is to reconnect people to nature and create
more awareness for the potential of neglected wild plants in terms of nutrition, health and sustainibility.
It’s for about 15 years now, that I got this huge passion for the edible wild plants that grow all around us here on our beautiful island, Majorca. I love to forage them, to cook with them, ferment them, prepare wild teas, wild meals, wild cosmetics etc., etc….
I also regulary offer gastro-botanic walks, where I show how to identify and collect edible wild plants in a sustainable way and how to include them into our daily nutrition. If you’d like to discover the wild taste of Majorca and all the health benefits of these fascinating „weeds“, come and join one of my forage walks or contact me for a private tour for your friends and family. Maybe you are curious, which kinds of edible wild plants grow on your property or in the area you are living in? Don’t hesitate to contact me, too. I’ll come for a visit and together we’ll find out by which green treasures you are surrounded. And if you fancy to try out my wild kitchen, I’d love to prepare some delicious wild food for you 🙂
The main foraging season on Mallorca lasts from November until the beginning of May when temperatures start to rise. You’ll find the autum/winter/spring walks clicking here (calendar of foraging activities 2022 / 2023)
